Populate Google Shopping Feed

EQ3 Is Using Cylindo Visuals to Populate Google Shopping Feed

One of the largest advantages of creating your very own 3D library is the ability to leverage 3D visuals beyond the Viewer and the product page.

In the Cylindo PowerUse category, we’ll be exploring different use cases to help you and your teams make the most of your Cylindo library.

The Canadian retailer EQ3 is well aware of the versatility of Cylindo 3D assets. As a digitally advanced retailer, EQ3 has been successfully repurposing their 3D library right from the start.

One particularly interesting use case is repurposing Cylindo 3D visuals to populate Google shopping feed.

Here’s a short overview of how EQ3 is using Cylindo Content API to load visuals into the Google shopping feed and provide buyers with a consistent visual experience.

What is EQ3 doing?

EQ3 is repurposing Cylindo 3D visuals to display as images on Google shopping feed.

For many buyers, Google is a must-stop in the discovery phase, and more often, Google is the place where the buying journey begins.

Serving the same visual experience at multiple touchpoints helps EQ3 leave a memorable impression on buyers. In this case, shoppers searching for furniture online would be seeing the same images on both Google shopping feed and EQ3’s website, thus creating a consistent brand experience.

Additionally, repurposing their 3D library allows EQ3 to save some valuable resources and move fast with any new collections.

Here’s what that experience looks like:

  1. Once visitors begin searching for Google keywords (using example keywords “best apartment sofas canada”), a variety of sofa models pop up in the Google shopping feed.

Note: products displayed may vary depending on location.

As buyers search and explore different products (e.g., “apartment sofas,” “best sectionals canada” etc.), here are some of the EQ3 models that pop up in Google.

  2. Once users select a sofa they like (in this case, we’ve selected EQ3 Reverie Apartment Sofa), they are taken to another Google page, with product details featured in the right corner of the page.

    Here’s what that looks like:

  3. Once shoppers select a product/model they like, they can then visit the EQ3 product page to explore the model in depth and play around with colors and fabrics. On the product page, it’s easy to see the visual resemblance.

Main benefits

There are several key benefits of doing this:

  • Eliminate confusion and allow for more pleasant browsing

  • Improved visual consistency across the whole buyer journey from start to finish

  • Increase buyer confidence with visuals that look and feel the same

How is EQ3 doing that?

EQ3 is loading 3D visuals to the Google shopping feed library (Google Merchant Center) via the Cylindo Content API.

The visuals that appear as buyers search and explore different products on Google are an exact visual match to the products buyers see on EQ3 product pages, thus eliminating any confusion and increasing purchase confidence.

By repurposing their  Cylindo 3D library, EQ3 is able to offer a consistent, visually appealing experience across the whole buyer journey without investing additional resources in product photography.

You, too, can leverage 3D visuals beyond the product page
