Product Data Checklist

Before starting the modeling on the product, all of the necessary data must be included in the product page on the CMS. This is the checklist of requirements needed before the modeling process can begin:

  • Check if there are sufficient images from every angle of the product (front, side, back, and perspective)
  • Check if there needs to be an additional option (e.g. fabric and leather)
  • Check if there are enough images for all of the additional options
  • Check the overall dimensions by creating a bounding box and try to match with the image reference if it has any discrepancies
  • Check for additional info if the references are not enough
  • Check if there is enough data for every option of the product (different arm options, leg options, or cushion options)
  • Check if there is clear data about the details of the product, such as seams, welts, nails, glides, stitches, buttons, tags, zipper sliders, etc.

When working on variations (go to archetype vs. variations section), this is the checklist of requirements needed before  the modeling process can begin:

  • Check if the references for the variation match with the references from the archetype
  • Check if the dimensions for the variation are compatible with the ones from the archetype
  • Check if the options for the variation are compatible with the ones from the archetype
  • Check if the details for the variation are compatible with the ones from the archetype

If anything is missing from the checklist, no matter how small or irrelevant it might look, be sure to discuss this with the Pre-Production/Production or QA team. In many cases, it will result in putting the product on hold while we get the correct information from the client, but it is better to start the production process with all the necessary and correct information rather than doing the wrong work and having to rework it later.
